29 From the top and foot of a tower 40 m high, the angle of elevation of the top of a lighthouse
is found to be 30° and 60° respectively. Find the height of the lighthouse
distance of the top of the lighthouse from the foot of the tower.

AB=AE+EB

EB=h=40

BD=X

EC=BD

TAN30=AE/X

1/√3=AE/X

X=AE√3. (1)

TAN60=AE+EB/X

TAN60=AE+40/X

√3=AE+40/X

X=AE+40/√3 (2)

From eq1 and 2

AE=13.33

HIGHT=AE+EB=13.3+40

=53.3 m
