In the given figure, the shaded part shows  that area at which 'DIWALI CARNIVAL  program is situated

Area of shaded portion = Area of bigger sector - Area of smaller sector

Area of sector = ∅/360° × π × r²

Area of shaded portion = ∅/360° × π × r1² - ∅/360° × π × r2²

= ∅/360° × π ( r1² - r2²)

= 30°/360° × 22/7 ( 7² - 3.5²)

= 1/12 × 22/7 × 36.75

= 9.625 cm²

Therefore, the area of shaded portion is 9.625 cm²
