#29 Read the following passages and then answer the question.

The first settlers to reach North America probably came from Asia. They crossed a land bridge from Russia into Alaska thousands of years ago. Over the years, they spread out all over the North American continent. They formed many different groups, or tribes. These tribes learned to live on the continent and use its resources. We generally refer to these people as Native Americans, even though, at the time, they were referred to as Indians.
Early European settlers came to North America seeking religious and political freedom. For example, the Pilgrims and the Puritans came to North America for religious reasons. Other Europeans came to North America seeking wealth, power, and adventure. Many other people came seeking a "second chance" for a new life for themselves and their children.
Which theme is represented in the passages?

A.)Distribution of Power
B.)Individuals, Groups, and Institutions
C.)Production, Distribution, and Consumption
D.)Technological Innovation
E.)Conflict and Change
F.)Rule of Law
Movement/Migration
G.)Location

As seen, formal education has a well-defined set of features. Whenever one or more of

these is absent, we may safely state that the educational process has acquired non-formal

features. Therefore, if a given education system is not presential most of the time - non-

contiguous communication - we may say that it has non-formal education features.

Likewise, non-formal education characteristics are found when the adopted strategy does

not require student attendance, decreasing the contacts between teacher and student and

most activities take place outside the institution - as for instance, home reading and

paperwork. Educative processes endowed with flexible curricula and methodology,

capable of adapting to the needs and interests of students, for which time is not a pre-

established factor but is contingent upon the student’s work pace, certainly do not

correspond to those comprised by formal education, but fit into the so-called non-formal

education. Proportionally to the number of formal education factors that are absent from

a process, we find several grades of non-formal systems.
