 {(2a  +  3b)}^{2}   - 5(2a  + 3b) - 14 \\  \\  =  {x}^{2}   - 5x - 14 \\   =  { x}^{2}  - 7x + 2x - 14 \\  = x(x - 7) + 2(x - 7) \\  = (x - 7)(x  + 2) \\ using \: 1 \\ =  (2a + 3b - 7)(2a + 3b + 2)
