Indian Jewellery Company Rejects Muslim Candidate's Job Application 22 May, 2015 Mumbai: A leading jewellery company based in Mumbai rejected the job application of a Muslim candidate named Zeeshan Khan on the grounds of his religion, Khan, who is a 22-year-old MBA graduate, filed a complaint against the company at the VB Nagar police station today In his complaint, Khan alleged that the company rejected his application, even though he had all the required qualifications for the job, only because of his religion. He also provided the rejection letter that the company had sent him two days ago as evidence to support his statement. In the letter, the company has clearly stated that it only hires 'non-Muslim' candidates, and hence, cannot consider Khan's application. Appealing for justice, Khan has stated in his complaint that this act of the company is a dear violation of his basic Fundamental Rights guaranteed by the Constitution of India. The police authorities informed that the case has been transferred to the BKC police station, where the company's office is located. They also stated that the case is being Investigated and if the allegations are true, then appropriate legal action will be taken against the company
