2ml of sodium hydroxide solution is added to a few pieces of granulated zinc metal taken in a test tube. When the contents are warmed, a gas evovled which is bubbled through a soap solution before testing. Write the chemical reaction involved and the test to detect the gas . Name the gas which is evolved when the same metal reacts with dilute solution of strong acid.

2NaOH + Zn = Na2ZnO2 + H2( Balanced)

Base + Metal = Salt + H2( Exception Reactions)

When the content is burnt , H2 is produced and to test it , burn a candle and bring closer to the bubbles formed from soap solution , It will give a pop sound.

Same metal = Zn

Let's take strong acid HCl

So , Zn + 2HCl = ZnCl2 + H2

Metals + Acid = Salt+ Hydrogen gas.

So same hydrogen gas releases .
