2NaOH +Zn ---->Na2ZnO2 + H2 why this forms instead of Na2Zn +H2O

adithya02: Na2ZN is not an element
adithya02: It doesnt exist
adithya02: In simple words Na has +1 charge and Zn has +2 charge so Na2Zn has total +4 charge. Unless the total charge becomes 0 the element wont exist. Na2ZnO2 total charge is 0.
adithya02: (2+2-4=0)
haris112: but that formula is in ncert book
haris112: that says that it is a metal radical
haris112: even i had a doubt that u say
haris112: so i asked it here
haris112: pothu naaya
haris112: tvdia payla
