all the resistors are connected in series so we must take the sum of all resistances.

total resistance = 12 ohm+ 8 ohm+ 5ohm = 25 ohm.

given voltage = 6v

therefore the reading of the ammeter will be = 6/25 = .24 A

the voltmeter is connected in parallel only to the 12 ohm resistor so we take the account of only that resistor.

v = .24* 12 = 2.88 volt

therefore the reading of ammeter = .24 A

and reading of voltmeter = 2.88 volt
