Here u go!!
R(1) = 3ohm ,R(2) = 3ohm , R(3) = x
V = 12v ,
Potential diff across R(3) = V(3) = 6v
So, equivalent resistance = 6+x
I = V/ R = 12/6+x
R(3) =V(3)/ I = 6/12/6+x
X = 6(6+x /12)
X = 6
R(3) = 6 ohm
Now current in the circuit is,
I = V/ R = 12/6+6 = 1A.
a) potential diff across 3 ohm resistor is = IR = 1(3 ) = 3v
b) Since it is connected in series, the current in each resistor is same. So,
I = 1A
c) equivalent resistance is = R(1) + R(2) + R(3) = 3 + 3 +6 = 12 ohm.
