Given, 2t-5u=1------------------(i)

t+u=-3--------------------(ii)

now, multiplying equation (i) by 1 and equation ( ii) by 5 and then adding, we get

(i)×1=2t-5u=1----------------(iii)

(ii)×5=5t+5u=-15--------------(iv)

(i)+(ii) = 7t=-14

therefore, t=-14/7

t=-2

substitute the value of t in equation (ii) , we get

-2+u=-3

u=-3+2

u=-1

value of t=-2 and u=-1
