Given,
2 \frac{1}{2}  + 4 \frac{1}{4}  \\
converting into improper fraction we get
2 \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{5}{2}  \\  \\ 4 \frac{1}{4}  =  \frac{17}{4}
now taking LCM that is 4 we get
 \frac{5}{2}  =  \frac{10}{4}  \\
adding
 \frac{17}{4}  +  \frac{10}{4}  =  \frac{27}{4}  = 6 \frac{3}{4}  \\

another way

Add the wholes together and then fraction together so we get
2 + 4 = 6
 \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{1}{4}  \\  =  \frac{2}{4}  +  \frac{1}{4}  =  \frac{3}{4}
writing together
6 \frac{3}{4}  \\
Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️
