Answer:

x = 1/8 & 2

Step-by-step explanation:

((2x+1)²+(2x-1)²)/((2x+1)²-(2x-1)²)=17/8 Solve the equation.

Numerator = (2x+1)²+(2x-1)² = 4x² + 1 + 4x + 4x² + 1 - 4x = 8x² + 2

Denominator = (2x+1)²-(2x-1)² = 4x² + 1 + 4x -( 4x² + 1 - 4x) = 8x

(8x² + 2)/8x = 17/8

cancelling 8 from both sides

=> (8x² + 2)/x = 17

=> 8x² + 2 = 17x

=> 8x² -17x + 2 = 0

=> 8x² - 16x -x + 2 = 0

=> 8x(x-2) -1(x-2) = 0

=> (8x -1)(x-2) = 0

=> x = 1/8 & 2
