Given that

Let

LHS as left hand side

RHS as right hand side

2x -  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{1}{6}  - x

To solve and verify it

Solution

First we will solve this equation and calculate value of x

hence

2x -  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{1}{6}  - x

by cross multiplication of both sides

 \frac{6x - 3}{3}  =  \frac{1 - 6x}{6}

swap 6 to left hand side and 3 to right hand side

then

6(6x - 3) = 3(1 - 6x)

by multiplication

36x + 18x = 3 + 6

by addition we get

54x = 9

hence x will be

x =  \frac{9}{54}  =  \frac{1}{6}

To verify equation put x is lhs and rhs we get

2 \times  \frac{1}{6}  -  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{1}{6}  -  \frac{1}{6}

by solving we get

 \frac{1}{3}  -  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{1}{6}  -  \frac{1}{6}

0 = 0

hence verify that

LHS is equal to RHS.

2x-1/3=1/6-x

2x-1/3=1-6x/6(by taking LCM)

cross multiplication

6(2x-1)=3(1-6x)

12x-6=3-18x

12x+18x=3+6

30x=9

x=9/30

x= 0.3
