3x - 18y =9

× = 9 - 18y/3

putting the value of x in eq 1

2(9-18y) + 18y = 8 × 3 = 24

18 - 36y + 18y = 24

- 18y = 6

y = -1/3 ... put the value of y in eq 1 ...

2x -6 = 8

x = 7
