Adding both equations
3x+3y=8700
X+y= 2900
Y= 2900-x
Put in eq 1
2x+ 2900-x = 3300
X= 400

Given equations,

\longrightarrow 2x+y=3300\quad\quad\dots(1)

\longrightarrow 2y+x=5400\quad\quad\dots(2)

Multiplying (1) by 2,

\longrightarrow 4x+2y=6600\quad\quad\dots(3)

Subtracting (2) from (3),

\longrightarrow (4x+2y)-(2y+x)=6600-5400

\longrightarrow 4x+2y-2y-x=1200

\longrightarrow 3x=1200

\longrightarrow\underline{\underline{x=400}}

Hence value of x is 400.

From (1),

\longrightarrow y=3300-2x

\longrightarrow y=3300-2\times400

\longrightarrow y=3300-800

\longrightarrow y=2500

Value of y is 2500.

Let's check.

From (1),

\longrightarrow 2\times400+2500=800+2500=3300

From (2),

\longrightarrow 2\times2500+400=5000+400=5400

So it's true.
