4 {x}^{2}  - 4x  - 3 = 0 \\ 4 {x}^{2}  - 6x + 2x  - 3 = 0 \\ 2x(2x - 3) + 1(2x - 3) = 0 \\ (2x + 1)(2x - 3) = 0 \\

so,

2x + 1 \:  = 0 \\ x =  -  \frac{1}{2}

2x - 3 = 0 \\ x =  \frac{3}{2}
