Answer:

2x^2-x-1 = 2x^2-2x+x-1

take 2x outside from first 2 terms

2x(x-1) + x-1

now take x-1 outside

(x-1)(2x+1)

(2x^2-x-1)/(x-1) = (x-1)(2x+1) / (x-1)

In RHS x-1 will be cancel out from numerator and denominator both

then we have only 2x+1

so, 2x+1 will be the answer..
