Step-by-step explanation:

First we take LCM of the equation- 2x/3+ 3y/4 =7

which results in- (2x×4) + (3y×3) = 7

12

then , 8x + 9y = 7× 12

8x + 9y = 84 -------eq -(1)

5x - 3y = 18 ---------eq-(2)

we will solve this equation by elimination method. Where we have to eliminate one variable by adding or subtracting both equations.

but for that we have to see that one variable can be eliminated or we have to transform any equation by multiplying with any number.

So in eq-(2) we mutiply with 3

where, (5x - 3y) ×3 = 18×3

15x - 9y = 54 -------eq- (3)

now add eq - (1) and (3)

8x + 9y = 84

+ 15x - 9y = 54

23x = 138

x = 138/23 =6

now put value of x in eq- (1) to get value of y

8×6 + 9y = 84

48 + 9y = 84

9y = 84 - 48

y = 36/9

y = 4.

so the answer is x = 6 and y = 4.
