2x - (3/4)y = 3 ---(1)

5x = 2y + 7 ---(2)

Multiply both sides of (1) by (5/2) -

= > (5/2)2x - (5/2)(3/4)y = 3(5/2)

= > 5x - (15/8)y = (15/2) ---(3)

Subtract (3) from (2)-

= > (15/8)y = 2y + 7 - (15/2)

= > (15/8)y - 2y = (-1/2)

= > (-1/8)y = (-1/2)

= > y = 4

Hence,

5x = 2y + 7

5x = 2(4) + 7

5x = 8 + 7

x = 3

Therefore, x = 3 and y = 4
