2x^3+ax^2+b-2 has a factor (x+2) and leaves a remainder 7 when dividend by 2x-3​

2x³ + ax² + bx - 2 = 0

Put the value of x

➞ 2(-2)³ + a(-2)² + b(-2) - 2 = 0

➞ 2 × (-8) + 4a - 2b - 2 = 0

➞ -16 + 4a - 2b - 2 = 0

➞ 4a - 2b = 18

➞ 2(2a - b) = 18

➞ 2a - b = 9 ----(i)

➞ 2x - 3 = 0

➞ x = 3/2

Put the value of x

Remainder = 7

2x³ + ax² + bx - 2 = 7

➞ 2(3/2)³ + a(3/2)² + 3b/2 - 2 = 7

➞ 2 × 81/8 + 9a/4 + 3b/2 = 7 + 2

➞ 27/4 + 9a/4 + 3b/2 = 9
