GIVEN:-

_____________________________________

2x + 3y = 12 •••••••••(1)

x - y - 1 = 0

or,

x - y = 1 •••••••••••••(2)

◉Solving it through substitution method

_____________________________________

From equation (2):-

x - y = 1

x = 1 + y

putting the value of x in eqn (1):-

______________________________________

2x + 3y = 12

2(1+y) + 3y = 12

2 + 2y + 3y = 12

2 + 5y = 12

5y = 12 - 2

5y = 10

y = 10/5

y = 2

putting the value of y in eqn (2):-

x - y = 2

x - 2 = 2

x = 2 + 2

x = 4

Answer: GIVEN:-

2x + 3y = 12 •••••••••(1)

x - y - 1 = 0

or,

x - y = 1 •••••••••••••(2)

◉Solving it through substitution method

From equation (2):-

x - y = 1

➝ x = 1 + y

putting the value of x in equation (1):-

2x + 3y = 12

➝ 2(1+y) + 3y = 12

➝ 2 + 2y + 3y = 12

➝ 2 + 5y = 12

➝ 5y = 12 - 2

➝ 5y = 10

➝ y = 10/5

➝ y = 2

putting the value of y in eqation (2):-

x - y = 2

➝ x - 2 = 2

➝ x = 2 + 2

➝ x = 4

•°• x = 4 , y = 2
