\purple{\bold{\underline{\underline{Step-by-step\:explanation:}}}}

2x + 3y = 12 ------------ (i)

x - y = 1 --------------------(ii) × 3

3x - 3y = 3 --------------(iii)

Equation (i) + (iii) →

2x + 3y = 12 ------------ (i)

3x - 3y = 3 --------------(iii)

____________________

5x = 15

x = 15/5

x = 3

Put the value of x into equation (ii) →

x - y = 1

3 - y = 1

y = 3-1

y = 2 .

The values of x and y are 3 and 2.

Given :

2x + 3y = 12 _____(1)

x - y = 1 _____(2)

Solution:

Multiply equation (2) with 2 ,

(2) × 2 => 2x - 2y = 2 _____(3)

Subtract (1) &(3) ,

(1) => 2x +3y = 12

(3) => 2x - 2y = 2

(-) (+) (-)

___________________

5y = 10

y = 10 /5

y = 2

Substitute the value of y = 2 in equation (2),

(2) => x - 2 = 1

x = 1 +2

x = 3

☆》ANSWER : x = 3 , y = 2《☆
