Step-by-step explanation:

x+2y = 8

x= 8-2y........(1)

substitute in second equ

2x+3y = 13

2(8-2y)+3y =13

16 -4y+3y =13

16 -y= 13

-y = 13 -16

-y= -3

= y= 3

put in y value in 1 equation

x = 8-2y

x= 8 - 2(3)

x= 8-6

x=2

Hey mate !!!

Here is your answer

2x + 3y = 13 ......(i)

x + 2 y = 8 .......(ii)

from (i)

x + 2 y = 8

x = 8 - 2 y

Substituting the value of 'x' in (i)

2x + 3 y = 13

2 (8 - 2 y) + 3 y = 13

16 - 4 y + 3 y = 13

16 - y = 13

y = 16 - 13

y = 3

Substituting the value of 'y' in (ii)

x + 2 y = 8

x + 2 (3) = 8

x + 6 = 8

x = 8 - 6

x = 2

Answer :- x = 2 , y = 3
