Answer:

x=4

y=2

Step-by-step explanation:

x+2y=8

x=8-2y

2x-3y=2

2(8-2y)-3y=2

16-4y-3y=2

16-2=7y

14=7y

y=2

x=8-2y

x=8-4

x=4

Given :-

2x - 3y = 2

x + 2y = 8

Solution :-

2x - 3y = 2 ........eq( 1 )

x + 2y = 8

x = 8 - 2y ...........eq( 2 )

Now , Subsitute eq( 2) in eq( 1 )

2x - 3y = 2

2( 8 - 2y ) - 3y = 2

16 - 4y - 3y = 2

16 - 7y = 2

-7y = 2 - 16

- 7y = -14

y = -14/ -7

y = 2

Now ,Subsitute the value of y in eq( 2)

x = 8 - 2y

x = 8 - 2 ( 2)

x = 8 - 4

x = 4

Hence , The value of x and y is 2 and 4
