x-5y = 11

x = 11 + 5y

2(11+5y) + 3y +4 =0

22 + 10y + 3y +4 =0

13y = -26

y= -26/13 = 2

Therefore, y = -2

x-5y = 11

x - 5(-2) = 11

x + 10 = 11

x = 1

Therefore, x = 1

Answer:

2x+3y=−4..........(1)

x−5y=11

∴x=11+5y .............(2)

Substituting eq. (2) in eq. (1), we get,

2(11+5y)+3y=−4

22+10y+3y=−4

22+4=−13y

∴y=−

13

26

y=−2

Substituting y=−2 in (1) we get,

x=1
