Answer:

Question :-

Find the value of x and y from the givem simultaneous equations.

- 2x + 3y = 4 ; - 2x + 6y = -2

Required Answer :-

- 2x + 3y = 4 -(i)

- 2x + 6y = -2 -(ii)

Subtracting eqn (i) from (ii),

- 2x + 3y = 4

+ 2x - 6y = 2

__________

- 3y = 6

- y = 6/3

y = -2

put y = - 2 in equation (i)

- 2x + 3y = 4

- 2x + 3(-2) = 4

- 2x + (-6) = 4

- 2x - 6 = 4

- 2x = 4 + 6

- 2x = 10

- x = 10/2

- x = 5

x = - 5

Therefore, (x, y) = (-5,-2) is the solution of the given equation.
