Multiply eq.(i) by 4

8x + 12y = 16 -------------eq.(iii)

Multiply eq.(ii) by 3

9x - 12y = 69 --------------eq.(iv)

On adding eq.(iii) to eq.(iv)

8x + 12y = 16

9x - 12y = 69

On putting the value of x = 5 in eq.(i)

2x + 3y = 4

2 * 5 + 3y = 4

10 + 3y = 4
