2x - 3y = 4 and 3y - x = 4 by elimination method

2x - 3y = 4 . . . . (1)

3y - x = 4

- x + 3y = 4 . . . .(2)

Multiply equation (1) by 1, (2) by 1, we get

2x - 3y = 4 . . . .(3)

- x + 3y = 4 . . . . (4)

Adding (3) and (4) we get,

2x - 3y = 4

- x + 3y = 4

x = 8

Substituting the value of x = 8 in the question (1) we get,

2x - 3y = 4

➞ 2(8) - 3y = 4

➞ 16 - 3y = 4

➞ - 3y = 4 - 16

➞ - 3y = - 12

➞ y = - 12/- 3

➞ y = 4

∴ The value of x = 8, y = 4 is the solution of the system of the given equations.
