By simply trying with the values;

x=-3 and y=4

in order to solve a linear equation in two variables we need 2 equations and you have not provide that.It is not easy when the resultant is a huge  number like 3000 or 4000 , but since here the resultant is a small number like 6 I have guessed the answer.
