solution:

Comparing the above equations with a1x + b1y = c1 and a2x + b2y = c2

a1= 2, b1= 3 and c1= -7

a2= a-1, b2= a+2 and c2= -3a

Since, the given equations has infinite solutions, then

(a1/a2) = (b1/b2) = (c1/c2)

2/a-1= 3/a+2= -7/-3a

2a+4= 3a-3

4+3= 3a-2a

a= 7
