Answer:

x=2

y=1

Step-by-step explanation:

by substitution method

2x+3y=7-----(1)

5x-2y=8-----(2)

from eq. (1)

x=7-3y/2------(3)

put the value of x in eq. (2)

5(7-3y/2)-2y=8

35-15y-4y=16

35-19y=16

35-16=19y

y=1

put the value of y in eq. (1)

2x+3y=7

2x+3×1=7

2x+3=7

2x=7-3

2x=4

x=2

by elimination method

multiply by 5 in eq. (1) and multiply by 2 in eq. (2)

then they will be

10x+15y=35

10x-4y=16

---------------

change the sign

so common things will be cancel

then we get

19y=19

y=1

put the value of y in eq.(1)

10x+15=35

10x=20

x=2
