Answer:

2x+3y=8         ---------- ( 1 )           

2x=2+3y         --------- ( 2 )           

∴  x=22+3y           ----- ( 3 )

Now, substituting value of x in equation ( 1 ),

2(22+3y)+3y=8

2+3y+3y=8

2+6y=8

6y=8−2

6y=6

∴   y=1

Now substituting value of y=1 in equation ( 3 ),

x=22+3(1)

x=25

∴   x=2.5

∴   The values of x and y are 2.5,1.
