X - y
By applying Remainder Theorem, let us calculate and write

remainder when x3 – 3x2 + 2x + 5 is divided by -
(a) x-2 (b) x + 2

Answer:

The remainder when p(x) is divided by (x−a) is p(a)

Geven that,

p(x)=x4−3x2+2x+5

Divisor =(x−1)

So, Remainder =p(1)

                          =(1)4−3(1)2+2(1)+5

                          =1−3+2+5

                          =5
