[2x + 3y = 9 --------(1)] × 4

[3x + 4y = 5 ---------(2)] × 3

8x + 12y = 36

9x + 12y = 15

- - -

____________

-x = 21

x = -21

Putting the value of 'x' in eq. (1)

2x + 3y = 9

2(-21) + 3y = 9

-42 + 3y = 9

3y = 51

y = 17

Hence,

x = -21

y = 17
