Answer:

2x + 3y =

(a-b) x + (a+b) y = 3a+b-2

a - b = 2 ..............(i)

a + b = 3 .............(ii)

adding (i) and (ii)

a - b = 2

a + b = 3

--------------

2a = 5

a = 5/2

a + b = 3

5/2 + b = 3

5+2b/2 = 3

5 + 2b = 6

2b = 1

b = 1/2

(a-b) x +(a+b) y = 3a + b -2

2x + 3y = 3a + b - 2

2x + 3y = 3×5/2 + 1/2 -2

2x + 3y = 15/2 +1/2 -2

2x + 3y = 15+1+-4/2

2x + 3y = 12/2

2x + 3y = 6

Hence the value of 2x + 3y = 6.
