6x - 2y = 2 ----> (2)

multiply Eq.(2) by 2 we get,

12x - 4y = 4---->(3)

now eliminate Eq (1) and Eq(2) we get,

12x - 4y = 4

2x + 4y = 17

14x = 21

x= 21/14

x = 3/2

put x= 3/2 in Eq.(1)

2(3/2)+4y=17

3+4y = 17

4y= 17-3

4y= 14

y= 14/4

y= 7/2
