Given pair of linear equations is 2x + 5y = 1 …(i) And 2x + 3y = 3 …(ii) On subtracting Eq. (ii) from Eq. (i), we get 2x + 3y – 2x – 5y = 3 – 1 ⇒ – 2y = 2 ⇒ y = – 1 On putting y = – 1 in Eq.
