∵ 3X - 4Y = -12

∴ 3X + 12 = 4Y

∴ 3/4 X + 3 = Y         ------------> (2)

substitute by (2) in (1) :

∴ 2X +5 ( 3/4 X + 3 ) = 15

∴ 2X + ( 15/4 X ) + 15 = 15

∴ 23/4 X = 15 - 15

∴ 23/4 X = 0

∴ X = 0                     ------------> (3)

substitute by (3) in (1) :

∴ 2 (0) + 5y = 15  

∴ 5Y = 15

∴ Y = 15/5

∴ Y =  3
