Good evening my dear friend, here is the answer to your question with full solution,

2x+5y = -23  -----(i)

3x -7y = 9  ----- (ii)

Lets us make coefficient of x same so that we can eliminate out x

Therefore,

Let us multiply (i) with 3 and (ii) with 2

(2x+5y = -23) *3

(3x-7y = 9)*2

therefore,

6x + 15y = -69 ---- (1)

6x - 14y = 18 -----(2)

if we subtract (2) from (1) then x will get eliminated and that is what we want..

therefore,

on subtracting we have

19 y = -87

 y= -3

If we put y= -2 in (i) then we will have the value of x also,

so let us put the value of y in (i)

therefore,

2x + 5(-3) = -23

2x = -8

x= -3

Therefore value of X = -3

and value of Y = -3
