Answer:

HEY MATE

GOOD EVE

2X + 5Y = 23 - (1)

5X - Y = 17 - (2)

NOW IN EQUATION (1)

X = (23-5Y)/2

SUBSTITUTING THIS IN EQU.(2)

5 x (23-5Y)/2 - Y = 17

TAKING.LCM = 2

(115 - 25Y - 2Y) / 2 = 17

CROSS MULTIPLYING

-27Y + 115 = 34

- 27Y = 34 - 115

- 27Y = - 81

Y = 3

SUBSTITUTING Y = 3 IN EQU..(1)

X = 23 - 15 / 2

X = 8 /2

X = 4 AND Y = 3 ANSWER

HOPE IT HELPS !!!
