Hey !!

2X - 7Y = 7 ---------(1)

And,

3X + Y = 22 ----------(2)

From equation (1) , we get

2X - 7Y = 7

2X = ( 7 + 7Y )

X = ( 7 + 7Y /2 ) ---------(3)

Putting the value of X in equation (2) , we get

3X + Y = 22

3 × ( 7 + 7Y/2 ) + Y = 22

21 + 21Y/2 + Y = 22

21 + 21Y + 2Y = 44

23Y = 44 - 21

23Y = 23

Y = 1.

Putting the value of Y in equation (3) , we get

X = ( 7 + 7Y /2 )

X = ( 7 + 7 × 1 / 2 ) = 14/2 = 7.

Hence,

X = 7 and Y = 1.
