 \frac{2x}{8}  +  \frac{x}{12}  =  - 8

LCM = 24

 \frac{(2x \times 3) + 2x}{24}  =  - 8

 \frac{6x + 2x}{24}  =  - 8

 \frac{8x}{24}  =  - 8

 \frac{x}{3}  =  - 8

x =  - 8 \times 3

» x = - 24

Hence x takes the value ' - 24 ' .
