Step-by-step explanation:

2x+y=10__eq 1

5x-y=4 __eq 2

on adding EQ 1 and eq2 we get

(2x+y)+(5x-y)=10+4

7x=14

x=2, subsitute x in eq1

2(2)+y=10

y=10-4=6
