Given -

2x+y=-2 and

3x-y=7

To find -

The value of x and y

Solution -

 {}

2x + y =  - 2\\ \\

\sf \: y =  - 2 - 2x  \:  \:  \: .1)\\ \\

\sf3x - y = 7\\ \\

\sf3x - 7 = y\\ \\

\sf3x - 7 =  - 2 - 2x(by \: 1)\\ \\

 \sf \: 3x + 2x =  - 2 + 7\\ \\

\sf5x = 5\\ \\

\sf \: x =  \frac{5}{5}\\ \\

\sf \: x = 1\\ \\

Now,

Substituting the value of x in equation 1) we will get -

 {}

\sf \: y =  - 2 - 2 \times 1\\ \\

\sf \: y =  - 2 - 2\\ \\

\sf \: y =  - 4\\ \\

Therefore the value of x is 1 and y is - 4

EXPLANATION

equation are given

3x - y = -1 ....(1)

2x - y = -2 ...(2)

TO FIND VALUE OF X AND Y.

substitute equation (2) we get,

2x + 2 = y....(3)

put equation (3) in equation (1)

we get,

3x - ( 2x + 2 ) = -1

3x - 2x - 2 = -1

x - 2 = -1

x = -1 +2

x = 1

put x = 1 in equation (3)

we get,

2x + 2 = y

2(1) + 2 = y

2 + 2 = y

y = 4

Therefore, value of x = 1 and y = 4
