2x-y=26 and 3x-y=14then find the value

let take
2x-y=26 as equation 1
3x-y=14 as equation 2
now when we subtract equation 1 and 2 we will get
-x=40
substitute the value of x in either equation 1 or 2
let substitute in 1,
2×-40-y=26
-80-y=26
-y=26+80
-y=106
therefore ,
y = -106
if u don't trust me then substitute x and y value in equation two u will get 14 only as per as given in the question
