It has given that 2x + y/3 = 12, xy = 30

To find : the value of 8x³ + y³/27

solution : here 2x + y/3 = 12

⇒(2x + y/3)³ = 12³

⇒(2x)³ + (y/3)³ + 3(2x)(y/3)(2x + y/3) = 1728

⇒8x³ + y³/27 + 2xy(2x + y/3) = 1728

as 2x + y/3 = 12 and xy = 30

⇒8x³ + y³/27 + 2(30)(12) = 1728

⇒8x³ + y³/27 + 720 = 1728

⇒8x³ + y³/27 = 1728 - 720 = 1008

⇒8x³ + y³/27 = 1008

Therefore the value of 8x³ + y³/27 is 1008.
