you can do it by multiple methods..but i think substitution meth. is ok for u right now

2x-y=3 /=/ x=3+y/2

substitute x in the 2nd eq.

4(3+y/2) + y = 27

simplifying

6+2y+y = 27

6+3y = 27

3y = 21

y = 7

now find x by putting the value of y

x = 3+7/2

x= 5
