2x-y = 3

2x = y+3

x = y+3/2

SUBSTITUTE THE VALUE OF X IN EQ. (2)

4x+y = 3

4(y+3/2)+y = 3

4y+12/2+y = 3

4y+6+y = 3

5y+6 = 3

5y = 3-6

5y = -3

y = -3/5

SUBSTITUTE THE VALUE OF X IN EQ. (1)

2x-y = 3

2x-(-3/5) = 3

2x+3/5 = 3

10x+3/5 = 3

2x+3 = 3

2x = 3-3

x = 0
