2x-y+5=0 and x+2y=4 solve by elimination method​

By elimination method,

2x-y+5=0 - - (i)

x+2y-4=0 - - (ii)]×2

Multiplying equation (ii) by 2 and Subtracting equation (ii) from equation (i)

2x - y+5=0 - - (i)

2x+4y-8=0 - - (ii)

0 -5y+13=0

=> - 5y= - 13

=> y = - 13/ - 5

=> y = 13/5.

Now, Putting the value of y in (i)

2x-(13/5)+5=0

=> 2x = 13/5 - 5

=> 2x = 13 - 25 /5

=> 2x = - 12 /5

=> x = - 12 /(5×2)

=> x = - 12 /10

=> x = - 6/5
