2x + y = 5

3x +y = 7

Therefore we get

-x = -2

x=2

Putting x=2 in equation 1

2 × 2 + y = 5

4+y=5

y=1

Hence solution of the equation (x,y) = (2,1)

Answer:

2x+y=5 equation 1

3x+y=7 equation 2

subtract equation 2 and 1

3x+y=7

- 2x+y=5

= x=2

substitute the value of x in the equation 1

2(2)+y=5

4+y=5

y=5-4

y=1

therefore (x,y) is (2,1)
